Photos are done man

Here are some highlights from Buck Hills, MNSCS # 7. It was a beautiful day for a race. I love being out on days like that. It was a short course with lots of fast riders so I learned some dodging skills following the course. Good Times. Thanks Ali and Barry for the company out on the course.

This is what I think of the 5th amendment! Insert Smear --- If you dont know, dont ask!!

Photos from the Minnehaha trip and 24hrs of Afton soon to come!!

If you could have any one — and only one — bike in the world, what would it be?

I have only had one bike for the last 7 years, its hard to think of parting with my good ole Cannondale, but I think I would pick up the Trek Fuel EX . Its beautiful and fits me like a glove.

Do you already have that coveted dream bike? If not, are you working toward getting it? If you’re not working toward getting it, why not? I covete a road bike : ) (Yes Janet, I want to become a Sissy). I was looking at the Cannondale Synapse . I really dont know much about road bikes so feel free to give me some of your favorites.

If you had to choose one — and only one — bike route to do every day for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? Hmmm. I dont have a road bike, therefore dont have many routes. I have only ridden MN Singletrack, does this make it easier or more difficult? I would say I would ride to Leb, ride all three loops a few times and then head on home. (I would be really bored really quick, why dont these things allow for choice?)

Do you ride both road and mountain bikes? If both, which do you prefer and why? If only one or the other, why are you so narrow-minded? Haha stupid question thingie, calling me narrowminded, you would only let me pick one route and one bike, so I am not answering, THERE!

Have you ever ridden a recumbent? If so, why? NO

Have you ever raced a triathlon? If so, have you also ever tried strangling yourself with dental floss? I have raced a Dual with the plan to aspire to a tri.. My training regimen actually consists of strangling myself with dental floss three times a week and then jumping from a bridge the other two. Amazing how intuitive these things can be.

Suppose you were forced to either give up ice cream or bicycles for the rest of your life. Which would you give up, and why? easy, Ice Cream!!! It doesnt do my body good

What is a question you think this questionnaire should have asked, but has not?

Which bikers are sexier, Mountain or Roadies?

Also, answer it........Did you have a kickstand and reflectors on the first mountain bike you owned?

Reflectors yes, Kickstand No. Oh wait. I grew up in the country and have always had a mountain bike. I think my first one was a Purple Huffy. Oh, it was the thing childhood dreams are made of!!! It even had the plastic diamond shaped thingies that clunked back and forth while I rode it. Awesome!! (Until my mom backed over it in the driveway. OOOPS)

You’re riding your bike in the wilderness (if you’re a roadie, you’re on a road, but otherwise the surroundings are quite wilderness-like) and you see a bear. The bear sees you. What do you do?

Pull out my BEAR AWARE and show that Bear whos Boss. Unless its Smokey or the Hamms bear, then I might stay awhile have a brew or two and see how their days been.

I'm supposed to tag three other people. So Pete, Katy, and Andy since you all are slacking on updating your blogs!

Pete Ryans' Rocks

Pete left me a link with these beautiful photos at the other end. Since I havent posted photos of my other rocks yet, I thought I would use his.
The top photo is Petes find from the Superior Hiking Trail, (Pete, Please correct me if I am wrong).
Now folks I am not a Geologist but I will give it my best. To make this alittle easier to understand, I will reference the rock by its number counting up from the bottom of the photo. And the row count is from the left. Wow this is complicated!
1. The Large Deep Red stone, #2 in the second row is Red Jasper.
2. The 2nd rock, 4th row appears to be Quartz. Which is also the crystal portion of rocks 4 in row 4 and 5.
3. The 4th & 5th rocks in the first row along with the 2nd rock in the 2nd row are Agate. The smaller ones at the top of the page could very well also be agate.
4. The largest Rock in the photo, upper right hand which appears to be white and green specked is Greenstone.
5. I believe the white stone at the top may be Quartzite or mudstone, but its hard to tell without knowing the texture/consistency of the rock.
6. I think the green rocks in row 3 must be quartz, I really have no clue what else they could be, anyone? Anyone? the darker ones may have a higher mineral content the the lighter colored stones.
In this next picture I believe I see some:
Porphyry
Maybe some vesicular rhyolite and rhyolite
Green and Red Agate
Greenstone
See if you can find it.
Thats all I got for you folks my brain is fried.
